International Festival of Languages and Culture – Melbourne - 2017

This year, Sirius College proudly organised the International Festival of Language and Culture (IFLC) on 14th May 2017. It was a remarkable event with thousands of guests attending.

The purpose of the International Festival of Language and Culture is to celebrate diversity and promote inclusion, whilst also providing an opportunity for participating students to showcase the kaleidoscope of their language and culture with other students from around the world.

Sirius College is an avid supporter of collaborative learning and compassion, promoting fellowship and dialogue among youth of diverse backgrounds in Australia.

The organisation itself provided invaluable opportunities for the participating students to be an active member of the global conversation. All entrants engaged with one another, Sirius College students and the local community through meaningful social, cultural and educational activities.

The festival showcased an amazing array of young talent, culture, song and dance. We had participants from over 14 countries join with so much enthusiasm and passion for what they do. Sirius college students also joined in with a primary and secondary combined choir performance, solo performers and also a mini snapshot of their play “Annie” that they are preparing for. It was surely one of the biggest and best multicultural festivals ever to be seen!

MOTHERS DAY STALL!

The Sirius College Primary Parents Club (PPC) held its annual Mother’s Day stall and overall it was a fantastic day! All students were given the opportunity to purchase beautiful gifts such as magnets, photo frames, soaps, notebooks, animated face washers, bath bombs and mugs with chocolates. They were all so beautifully presented.

We would like to thank everyone at home who purchased and supported the event. Special thanks go to the parents who assisted with the stall on both days. I would also like to thank teachers and aides who assisted students with their purchases and ensured both days ran smoothly.

Thank you
